Region: Beaujolais

Grape: Gamay

Farming: Sustainable

Tasting Note: Rich and sumptuous with intense blue and purple fruit and notes of peony and violet. It is generous yet fresh on the palate with ripe sumptuous fruit, velvety tannins and a hint of exotic spice.

Background: From the village of Fleurie in the Beaujolais. Fleurie is known for producing pretty, floral wines, as this sits on the border with Moulin-à-Vent there is more clay in the soils meaning this Fleurie is richer and more structured than the norm.

The vines here are on average 40-years-old. Traditional semi-carbonic vinification is used and ageing is eight months in large, old foudres.
