This rather special oil is both complex and pungent, with a good deal of pepperiness and character. It will appeal to those who like a stronger style of olive oil. Use with other well-flavoured ingredients such as barbecued steak or wild boar, or as a dip.

The idea for producing olive oil came to Mark, aka The Gay Farmer, at the beginning of 2008 after his first olive harvest on his mother’s small-holding in Moratalla, north west Murcia in Spain. He now works with his mother's farm and a nearby organic olive mill, who have their own 1500-acre estate, to produce high-quality cold-pressed olive oil and import it to the UK.
