Hodemdod's organic Vaal Dhal is inspired by the cuisine of Gujarat in northern India, but uses British-grown fava beans cooked with a blend of mild and aromatic spices. Ready to eat as a satisfying side dish, or can be cooked with other ingredients to create a more substantial curry.
Ingredients: Fava Beans (Broad Beans), water, tomato puree, rapeseed oil, rice flour, sugar, salt, herbs and spices (cumin, turmeric, fenugreek, coriander, caraway seeds, chilli powder, coriander leaf, mustard seeds).
Nick Saltmarsh, Josiah Meldrum and William Hudson founded Hodmedod in Norwich in 2012, following a research project called Great British Beans. They now supply beans, pulses and grains from farms in East Anglia and across the UK.
